Like the title says I've got a QB78 with no end cap so I'm looking for one BUT preferably a bulk fill cap or an entire hpa tube...
Thanks for looking!

CAF store has them, but looks like you also need a one way Foster, so it's pricey. A working end-cap will cost 1/2 a complete QB78.

Voodoo If you buy the cap and don't have the foster, I just received a bag of them. I will need to know the thread, I can send one out to you.

I too have a qb78 in need of a HPA conversion end cap. I have the original cap which works fine and a modified one i got from a forum member that had it modified to make it easier to screw/unscrew...

Would love to have to option to run a soft line from a bottle to the rifle instead of feeding it co2 caplets...

Let me know in private! Thank you!

Looks like CAF store may no longer have the adapters, but... it's straightforward to convert a stock end fill cap to allow bulk fill and/or tethered CO2 and/or regulated HPA. For safety reasons you don't need to be concerned about overfilling with CO2 or running from a CO2 tethered tank. But with HPA make sure you use a regulated HPA tank and no more than 1500 psi output unless you undertake many important mods to the QB78 tube/valve.
The basic modification will be to remove the screw holding the end cap core to the threaded ring. You will need to drill out the end cap threaded ring for a clearance fit for the 1/8" NPT of a male one-way Foster fitting. Then drill and tap a 1/8" NPT hole into the end of the end cap plug. You also need to drill a hole to allow gas/air/liquid to flow from the NPT hole into the pressure tube. To reassemble, put the plug into the threaded ring then install the Foster fitting, it will capture everything and leave you with a fully functional end cap. Done correctly, the piercing pin is not altered and your QB78 will be able to run on 12g cylinders, bulk fill CO2, tethered CO2, tethered HPA, or if you're really wanting to you cold fill it to 1500 psi HPA un-tether and get a couple shots on air only. I have my QB 78 sitting on my bench right now, tethered to my new Sodastream HPA tank regulated to 800 psi. download/file.php?id=39871&mode=view HIH.

Duke, I just got some new one way fosters delivered last week that have a 8mm thread for some new paintball regs. The pre tap hole is a little over 6mm. they would great for this application.

Okay, this is great! Simple enough to do with basic tools and knowledge- i like it.

Thanks for taking the time to explain and post the pictures. When i decide to work on it, i will make sure to document my experience and post it around theses parts for future references.

Get a QB79 from Wes instead of messing around with all those fittings. https://airgunarcheryfun.ca/beeman-beeman-qb79-22-cal/

It sure makes alot of sense... they can't be used with traditionnal co2 powerlets it seems tho. I guess it's not a big disadvantage. Thanks for the heads up!

You could still use 12 gram bulbs with the QB79 if you get an adapter like this one.
