In the past 3 years I have eliminated 342 rats just from my neighbourhood. I have video monitoring in my yard 24 7. The batteries in my truck are rapt in a thermal blanket over the past month or so the rats and or mice have shredded most of this blanket also chewing through two wires. This has been a major problem for the people living the next street over as they have had to tow there cars for repairs.

Our forum member Ricksplace has a crazy story about rodent destruction. He had a chipmunk get into his car and it ate the covering off lots of wiring. The critter got everywhere including the dashboard, head liner and door panels. The car ended up being a write-off due to fire concerns from shorting wires.

I’ve heard about squirrels crawling into engine compartments and chewing the covering off spark plug wires. Something fire can result.
