Nope. Anybody can own a deac (aka: a "DEWAT") as they are no longer considered firearms, and cannot be made to shoot again.

The deac. process is brutal

Stuff like: steel rod the dia. of the bore being electrically welded into the barrel, mags being deactivated and welded to the reciever, sear assemblies being welded, etc. etc. etc.

Where in canada can you buy or order deactivated firearms? I wouldnt mind having some WWII collectable pieces.

Seems odd to allow possesion of a deactivated firearm, but not a replica...go figure!

Crazy eh...??? I believe the importation of deactivated arms has been now halted as well.

There are some dewats currently for sale on gunnutz.

There are some after market accessories that you can get for certain models,for instance, You can get a trigger modification that fires 3 rnds off, for every time that you pull the trigger,,I cant remember the manufacturer, but I know its available for the "Ruger 10/22,,mini-14.And it's legal in Canada as far as I know.

There is a company in Canada that sells de activated and replica fire arms. I came across it once buying a sword........Ill see if I can find a link.
