I was shooting my 1377c this weekend with all the power mods I did and the 1760 barrel I put on it. I aslo changed the piston to metal. Works really smooth. Hey metalmuncher49 I know I asked this before but how much would you charge to make one of them breeches?

RM422,

It would be far to much as there is many hours of work involved. Kevin tells me that the new Crosman breach kit is very good. That is probably your best bet.

metalmuncher : did you make the moderator by yourself ? How is it made ? How do you mount it on the barrel and how to line up the front sight properly ?

papaburger,

The aluminium piece only servers as a sleave to adapt the Enfield sight to the Crosman barrel. There is one small set screw in the sleave that holds it to the gun barrel so the whole thing can be rotated into alignment and the screw tightened.

what is the lathe that runs behind the wood lathe? it is an odd looking rig . is it for a special perpose.

It is home built. I found that I needed a small machine that would be handy for little parts so I built one.

Metal, you are a man after my own heart. Love your selection of tools!
You probably subscribe to Homeshop Machinist and Projects eh?
How about Dave Gingery? his name ring for you?
Can you tell us more of that homebuilt lathe?
I have a 24" shaper that I need to get running just not sure how to use one of them. I bought it to make square internal holes (falling block action building dream)
Walter....

Walter,

I have had four articals published by Village Press, one in Home Shop Machinist a three in Machinist Workshop. I also have stuff in the "Tips Book" # 1 and # 2. (my only claim to fame #-o )

Not much to tell about the little lathe except that it is paterned after the Exe lathe that was made in Britain in the 1920's.

http://www.lathes.co.uk/exe/page3.html

The shaper is a great tool. Not much to running them but you must be careful. They have lots of power and if you crash them metal will fly everywhere causing possible injury to yourself and anything that is within 20 feet of the machine.

Square holes are no problem and as you are interested in building guns I think that post these photos that may interest you.

Could you coach me on the setup to do a square hole 2" deep and get it on size?
Appreciate your help and glad to have found you.

Thanks anyway metalmuncher49. I was just wondering anyway. I will probably buy one from crosman one of these fine days.
