That is a nice gun. Why not try some Remington Excelerators? I used them in my 303 years ago and found them very good.

I believe the regulations state bullet diameter as the limit. In that case, you could use accelorators,, as they area .22 cal bullet (and SMOKIN fast out of a .303 case :D )

Now this raises an interesting point....if you are shooting an accelerator, you are hunting with s .22 caliber. I'd hunt with it for sure (but I'd make darn sure I didn't have any 30 cal loads anywhere NEAR me.

The bullet design is a descarding sabot that is 30 cal. but contains a .22 cal. bullet. The .22 bullet leaves the sabot after exiting the muzzle.

As the regs state you can't use a rifle of greater cal than .275 it doesn't say anything about the ammo your carrying. If you hunt with a .303 down here your in violation! The judge ain't gonna know about accelerators, just that your using a .303

An interesting note; you can hunt here with a .270 because its under their .275 cal. rule, but the bullets are actually .277!!! SHHH!! Don't tell them. Or we won't be able to use our .270's on those 200 yd. running jackrabbits!! :o :o

You can't use your 30/30 but the .270 is OK, go figuire.

Have you considered selling it rather than trading? My PAL will likely come in this week and a good deer/moose rifle will be on my "to buy" list. I've had experience with that model of rifle and I'd love to pick one up.
