I really dislike my QB's stock stock, it's just wrong for the style of shooting I have in mind. I don't want to buy a new stock, it hate spending money, and I don't really have the guts to attempt making a new stock, so I got an idea. I'm thinking about sanding off the finish on the grip area of the stock, and building up certain areas with wood filler, and sanded down other areas. It'll take time, but I thnik it will work. My question is: Will wood filler stick to bare wood, with only the one surface as support? Or will I need to use some kind of reinforcements? Like drill holes into the stock for the putty to stick into.

If wood filler won't work, any other putties I could use?

I know it'll be ugly, but don't care as it's getting coated with spray-on truck bed liner.

Side note: Where can I get truck bed liner?

Thanks guys.

truck bedliner if you sand it with 40 grit sandpaper and then use automotive body filler in layers it should work

Your better to glue strips of wood in layers and then sculpt it. Bondo on wood is alright in thin layers. But if you use it to build up an area, it will eventually crack and separate from the wood.

Ok, thanks John, I guess I'll get some wood glue and get to work.

Where can I get spray-on bed liner?

If you sand it with 40-Grit paper it will put lines in it only and really F-it up bad. CTC sells that bedliner for around $8.cnd a can. Becareful what you do. I still have a garage full of my AutoBody Shop and I can't use it no more that well anymore because of my health. But I do know what will happen 100%. Just becareful eh...

Yea, I figured with all those layers the grooves would disappear. Thanks so much guys, and yea, I'll post some pics as soon as my parents get a cam.
