Well guys here are some pictures of a 15" custom barrel that was destroyed at 1200 rpm shooting. Looks like harmonic stresses when firing actually compressed the barrel. Note the bunching up of the threads, who would have thought such stresses are possible from a BB gun. I am going back to the stock barrel and will most likely try a barrel extension next and also be very careful this time with tuning the solenoid. I actually had to file the bunched up threads off to remove the barrel from the receiver.

Radical is studying this and I look forward to his theory.

I'm not sure how the action on a drozd works but every bb through there is a tiny hammer moving really really fast. 1200 tiny hammer strokes a minute. All it'd take is the barrel to not be properly hardened or for it to have a small imperfection. The CO2 would keep it cool so you'd never notice the heat generated by the steel distorting.

I can see how it might happen, but I never thought it'd happen until I saw those pictures.
