I'd like to not spend a bunch of money as I may only make it out to one match next year (it's a long drive for me)... Can anyone recommend a Fitco scope for the Hunter Class? I'd like to use it on my QB or my HW, most likely the QB though... I'm thinking of this one:

http://www.futong.com/catalog/item/2129588/1590488.htm
That's $38.75 plus rings and shipping with their special.

Any opinions? Is there another Fitco that would be more appropriate?
Thanks in advance!

The only detractor that I can see with that particular scope, is that it only focuses down to 15 yards. The FT targets at the sub 15 yard distances are usually the ones with very small kill zones, so being able to focus clearly at those ranges is very important. Ideally, you want something that focuses down to 10 yards.

The other thing about the Fitco.... it doesn't have a Mil-Dot reticle, just a Dual-X....

I don't know what the quality is compared to the Leapers 8-32X56 (SCP3-832AOMDL-A) mentioned in the "Scope Talk" thread.... but Sniper sells the REX 10-40X50AO for $225.00.... that would be Mil-Dot, and if you click on the pic on his website, it shows the "E" version with illuminated reticle.... I guess you'd have to ask him if you got the "E" at that price....

I know that is a LOT more money than the Fitco.... but another choice, maybe?....

I can also recommend that you avoid those Fitco scopes for this particular
sport. A 3-9 is just useable for FT Hunter, but it will not break the bank.
An adjustable objective is an excellent option to have on the scope, even
if you are not using the AO to range find like the biggest scopes. At least,
you can get the parallax close for the distance you are shooting so your
crosshair will be properly positioned.

Mildot scopes are not required when you are using the clicks of your
scope to adjust for the range you are shooting at. If you plan to not use
the clicks of the turret to adjust for distance, then the mildot is the best
option to go with. Go to D&L Airguns, go to the scope page, and the
second and third scopes ( SCP-392AOMDTS and SCP-394AOMDLTS) in
the Leaper's line will work for you and not break your bank account. Both
have adjustable objective and focus really close, one has a standard
mildot reticule and the other has the lighted reticule, red and green.

Neither of those two scopes will look out of place on the rifle and will get
you by, but if you were to want a scope that more closely fits the needs
of an FT shooter, this one (3-12 x 44 - SCP3-3124AOMD-A), further down
the page, may be not too far out of reach and will of greater value to you
as an FT scope. I can tell you that most Tasco scopes are not up to the
task, and even some of the cheaper Bushnell scopes don't cut it, either. I
hope that the optics on those three scopes are close to those of the much
more expensive 8-32x56 and if they are 80%, you are still way ahead.

Ok, so the Leapers 3x9 is the way to go for maximum value. Thanks!

And the Fitco's are worth staying away from... Even though their pricing is very tempting....

Yes. If you were looking for a scope that could do one distance, the Fitco
does make sense for the money and I know that there are those that use
them on rifles with great success. However, they are not using them to try
and hit tiny holes in steel plates at fairly close to far distances. This is one
sport where the more you can sink into the scope, the greater dividends
it pays off when you are looking for that KZ on a target that has been
hammered all day. Lesser scopes will only let you see the silver mass,
whereas good glass will let you see the edge of the hole in that sea of
silver.
