No, it was actually Dave that was running the place while I was there anyhow. He had a small shop there open on the weekends providing ammo and targets plus a few guns. Dennis was absent most of the time and Doug was working. Dave, as I recall, was off on disability at the same time thus allowing him time to 'work' at Silverdale. I must admit, the place looked rather tough at the time.

Whatever happened to Brian Kearsey of St. Anne Sports?

Dave was at the range a lot, but it was more to hide out from his wife than to work there. He gave a lot of folks the impression that he was running the show, but I can assure you, that was not the case - lol. He and his wife split, and he headed to the US. Haven't seen or heard anything of him in the 12 or so years since.

Brian pulled a disappearing act about 10-11 years ago. I was one of many who showed up at his store, only to find the entire property vacated. No one knows what happened or where he moved to or why. A lot of guns, and radio control cars and equipment that didn't belong to him disappeared as well, so the police were brought in. I don't know if these people ever got their property back or not.
Brian had a track at the back of his property where a group of us use to race our 1/4 scale, and 1/8 scale radio control cars.
He was a very likeable fellow, and I'd love to know what actually happened.

I would imagine that Brian headed to the States as well. I believe he had family living in Colorado. Before I left Southern Ontario in 1997, he had pretty much given up his gun shop and went into cryogenic tempering business....

Stop the presses....found him!!!!

Here's his website...

He's still in Smithville...the company anyhow...his cell is in the 519 area code.

Interesting. The building that his cryo company was (is?) in is located just off of hwy #27, about midway between Bismark and Wellandport. All the signs were removed years ago. I'll have to take a drive one day and see if that building is occupied. Last time I was past there, it looked deserted.
Good sleuthing - lol.
