My GAMO squirrel field target came yesterday. For $25 I was not expecting much, but once I opened the package I was suprised at the quality of construction. I will probably get the rat as well just to keep the squirrel company.
My next acquisition will be an After Hours Super-Popper or one of their Duo-Poppers. I like the Duo-Popper idea because you can have two people shooting at the same time building the sense of competition as they shoot.

Would this style of target meet the Canadian FT rules? Can two people engage the targets at the same time under Canadian rules?

threemorewishes, from what i`ve seen it`s 2 guys per group and while one is shooting, the other is keeping score. When all the shots are done for each target the 2 guys switch.. Every Field Target i have seen that is used in the actual matches has one kill zone each and only 1 person shooting at a time while it's his turn.

That Gamo squirrel is a great target. Enjoy it! We even us it is competition.

The Rat is discontinued last word I heard. It was known to be more prone to failures than the squirrel.

Gamo is coming out with a new target series. They will have removable face plates for various target profiles. They will also offer reducers to change the kill zone size. I don't think they have made it to retail sales yet, but keep an eye out for them.



The Otten targets (After Hours) are the cream of the crop.

Becareful with the Duo-matic and low powered air guns. The designer of the target also gives warning about this, and states that it needs at least 7fpe to work. I have found that it needs at least 9fpe. Even my 12fpe gun will not make it work right at 25 yards.

The Duo-matic should work well, as will all of his regular Rhino targets. They are the best build quality I have seen. Others work well too, but his are a set above in fit and finish.

Threemorewishes, to add to what CJN said, the Duo-Popper is a practice and recreation target. A rvd said, the targets in competition have one kill zone and each competitor takes their turn on each lane that normally has two or three targets which are each shot twice each.

The Duo-Popper could be used in a fun match after the FT match was over, but the high power necessary to make that target function may cause a problem.
