I'd like to try FT in the hunter class this season so I put together a rifle that will get me started. Still need a scope so for now I put peep sights on it.

Top that rig off with a Leapers side wheel AO scope (4-16x?) and you'll be good to go. Looking forward to meeting you, and checking out your handiwork this summer.

Do it quick though, the Canadian distributors seem to be selling out of the Leapers stuff quick, with new orders not expected until late April/early May :shock:

The rifle looks very good. About that scope, keep in mind that the best from them are the 30mm tube 56mm objective. Tried canshooter's 8-32 this morning and it was on the money. Good sight picture, clicks are repeatable, and not out of this world for pricing. See you out there.

would a stock Diana Model 52 be sufficient for shooting FT? a lot of pics show guys with tricked out equipment...I posted a pic of my gun in the gallery as I just purchased it....curious

Yes, it can be used, but that rifle will be hard on the optics, so you will need to shell out money for top notch glass. As long as the rifle puts out less than 20 fpe for the two clubs we shoot at, no problem. If we get enough targets together at one time that can take rimfire power levels, then it will not be an issue for that match. Post some numbers and it will be easier to tell.

excellent...well the gun has a Bushnell Sportsman 3 x 9 x32 scope on it already...acuity through it seems to be good...it has windage & elevation turrets...IMO seems to be a quality scope (I didn't put the scope on it originally, it came as part of the package)...have only put around 50 rounds through the gun & so far the scope seems to be holding up to the punishment.....I will get my hands on a chrony sometime soon.. is that how you determine fpe? not quite sure how that works just yet
