Powerline 5501 review

- Plastic slide with white dot on the front blade

- No open port on the slide just like the old cp99 compact.

- The frame, trigger, barrel, hammer (under the slide), the safety, de-coking lever and piercing knob are metal.

- The magazine release, side grips and magazine are plastic. Also the magazine is very cheap and will break very easily. If you drop it, your screwed.

- The magazine comes with a little plastic thing that goes on the top, you put it on before you load the bbs. I guess its a safety feature to stop bbs from flying out the top when you snap the spring thing back into place.

- My gun shoots an inch low at 15 feet. Since the slide is plastic, you could file the front sight down a bit or just buy a laser sight.

- This gun is a moving barrel pistol like the crosman c11 combined with a single action blowback like the cp99 compact. It even behaves like the cp99 compact. When you run out of bbs, the slide stays back. If you go to: http://www.co2airguns.net/collection/Da ... /index.htm

They say: The gun will fire regardless of whether the slide has been cocked. There is a de-cocking lever, but this only disables the blowback action, it does not keep the gun from firing.

My gun will not fire in til you pull the slide back and cock it just like the cp99 compact. Also my de-cocking lever doesn't stop the blowback action, it does in fact de-cock the gun so it won't fire.

- This gun is good looking & comfortable to hold. The blowback action is about the same as the cp99 compact and others.

- As for the accuracy, you could hit a pop can at 20 feet but anything smaller and your wasting your co2. I have seven different bb pistols and I have concluded that all bb pistols are only good for 15 feet, unless it has 10 inch barrel or something like that. I used daisy silver bbs in it, maybe you could use crosman copper bbs in it. I will post some of my shooting tests soon.

I paid $80 + shipping & handling. Before I said "this gun is no better than the cp99 compact" but that's not fair, this is a descent to good blowback bb gun when compared to the pro77, cp99 compact & PPK.

My parents took the camera and went on vacation for two weeks, so no pictures this time. If you want detailed pictures check out: http://www.co2airguns.net/collection/Da ... /index.htm

Small mistake, the slide feels like plastic but its really some kind of cheap pot metal. I was shooting today and it got really cold like it was made out of metal.
