Thanks for the info, and good point about the barrel band - I hadn't thought of that! Any chance you can post a pic of your rifle showing the clearance you have between the scope and barrel/receiver? Thanks!

Just answered my own question - apparently Sportsmatch doesn't make a low set of mounts for a 30mm tube, even though some vendors advertise them as such. Only mediums and highs are available.

After a long wait I finally received this little beauty.
Did some quick testing yesterday and found I could get 30 shots on a fill averaging 982.2 fps with JSB Exacts (8.4gr)
I'm going to call Weihrauch and ask for my money back. They stated this rifle would shoot 18fpe, and I'm only seeing 17.998fpe :lol:
Needless to say I'm VERY happy with this shooter. Very small and relatively lightweight, and I can shoot half a HFT match on a fill....perfect :)
An unexpected bonus is the very slick lever action that cycles the 14 shot magazine with such ease you don't even feel like you're cycling a repeater.
I have to admit this is even slicker than the action on my AA S410 was.
I'm also very happy with the size/shape of the stock. Weihrauch did a great job creating a carbine stock that still fits adult shooters.
Now to get out and actually shoot it!

You've got yourself a sweet rig Tom... 8) Congrats!...

The HW would be on my short list for sure...
As far as an Ultimate HFT rig goes, anything that can actually group well enough to give a fellow a sporting chance and help his/her game progress... :wink:

I'm hoping this rifle is capable of groups like the HW windbag owns! :shock: The weather is looking good for Saturday, so hopefully I can get to the range early enough to at least start sighting this rig in.

For my ultimate rig - I just ordered a Daystate Air Ranger PCP, in .22cal, and 60ft lbs of delivered power. For a scope, I got a Bushnell 6500 Elite
Tactical 4-16x, 42 mm objective. So why these choices you may ask. Well, the Daystate has an amazing walnut stock, nicest I have ever seen, PCP for quick repeat firing and raw pellet power when charged to 3200 psi. This rifle is more for working at 50+ yards, so I need a long range scope - the 6500 works down to 10 yds, so I can shoot short, and long with a 16x magnification. This rifle is regarded as one the best rifles on the planet for a combination of hunting and target with enough energy to put holes through a 2x4 using a 29-40 grain pellet, and grouping at 1" over 100 yds if you believe the bench testers - its the absolute critter gun. My copy does not arrive until June sometime - so I'll post a review when I get to shoot the rig.

Why? because you can fix it easy in the field, shoots consistent and accurate for hunting or FT

Can the Daystate be turned down to under 20 FPE for FT?.... How is the consistency at that power level?....

Ya, I think you guys are confusing HFT (Hunter Field Target) and hunting.
Power is limited to below 20fpe in HFT.
So....nice rigs, but wrong application.
