Anybody know?

2289 front sight isn't 788-101 as shown in manual, I know that...

Is 2250 barrel 10" or 14", I can't really tell for sure from Cr site pics, and manuals don't say.

Thanks a lot.

Thanks Kevin. I was going to order the 2289 barrel if I couldn't find out, because I know how long that is...

Hmm, that 2289 FO sight isn't available anymore, so I guess part no. is irrelevant now. Also, I was told that apparently the 2289 Backpacker is no longer available in Canada. Maybe someone wants to verify that...

Well, Crosman don't make 'em any more, but you can usually get 'em at Hungarian Tire...

I didn't know that until today. Just posted another comment re it in Chat. Guess everybody knew except me, though I haven't seen it explicitly mentioned...I read almost all posts made this year!

Chinese Tire around here doesn't have ANY pellet/BB airgun stuff in stock, and they're very big stores, have more general variety than most. Must be because we're urban, rural stores probably have more gun stuff. They still use the '04 cat for Crosman ordering (which you have to do) which may give a false impression of what's available.

I guess what Crosman meant was they're not making any more 2289's, but there's still stock in the pipeline?

Hi cfraser!

The Crosman part number for the fibre optic front sight for the 2289 is 760-201.
They are a buck a piece thru Crosman

Have a good one!

Thanks. It's good to have the number. I think they were out yesterday because the person went and looked for an FO sight and there were the normal black ones in the "slots". I'll try again next week.

I got a 2240 a few days ago and it came with the black sight, though I think the pic on the Crosman site shows a FO one. ??

I've only ever seen new (unalterted) 2240's with the black front site and 2289's with the F.O. front site. :)

My mistake...it's a pic of the 2250 on the Crosman site that looked like it had the FO sight. That's what I'm doing, converting a 2240 to a 2250, so thought I'd get the sight too just to be "complete"...

Well hey, I got all my 2250 parts and the 3 breech kits...actually, they forgot one screw and I don't have the "FO" sight but I'm good for now. Also got a 2289 hammer spring that somebody mentioned was a good mod for the 2240. BTW, all the extra 2250 parts are pretty cheap, barrel and longer action tube are $12-13 each, all foregrip parts about $12, metal barrel band ~$8.

So I've looked at them all for a day+ and will assemble all the stuff on the weekend. Hope that 2240 worked, never tested it before taking it all apart...

I notice the 2250 action tube has a laser-etched (??) serial no. Is that normal? Or only on replacement parts? The new 2240 of similar manufacturing vintage (one month diff) had an engraved S/N. Just curious... I do record my S/N's though.
