The QB 78's trigger is adjustable for sear engagement , pull wieght ...
and over travel .Start by removeing the action from the stock , undo the knurled nut in the forearm and put the safety to the safe position and knock out useing a punch. The trigger is modular and comes out in one unit after removeing the two screws that hold it onto the tube .
remove the side plate by removeing the two phillps screws , clean the trigger parts and if necessary stone the sear surfaces useing an Arkansas
Hard stone or some 400 grit emery ..just polish it lightly .
Mix some moly to oil 50% of each and useing an artists brush apply to the sear and pins and springs ..move the parts to ensure adequate lubeing .
repeat the oil /moly mix application .apply pure mplly to the top of the sear and the exposed part of the hammer .
put back the side plate and the two phillips screws ..looking at the back of the trigger unit you will notice there are 3 screws , a large one at the bottom ..this is for pull wieght unscrew it 2 turns and test the feel of the trigger ( this will take it to about 1 lb ..adjust to your likeing ) ..next go to the middle screw ..this is for overtravel ..screw this all the way in ..you have just eliminated the creep .Do not touch the top screw this is for sear engagement and is for future wear compensation ..I dont know how long that will take as the parts are very hard ..and with the molly it will be a very long time .Trigger is now a crisp 1 lb with no creep and very predictable .The trigger now has the pull weight screw protrudeing 2 mm
and you will need to use a wood file to fit it in place in the stock remove about 2 mm where the rear of the trigger sits , reassemble rifle .

Enjoy !

Frank
