2240mod, I hate to think that a rifle has me beat so I may go the disassemble and clean route. I have never had a gas piston rifle apart. Does anyone know if the piston has a pre-load like a springer that will need a spring retainer as I disassemble. I am rather fond of all my body parts (old as they may be) and sometimes a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing. :?

should be only 1/4" of preload no need for a compressor to get it apart
may want one to reassemble :)

Voltar1, was correct as usual. Only about 3/16 inch preload and a spring compressor required to reassemble. After a thorough cleaning, (there were even iron filings in the compression chamber), the smoking issue might even be solved. Didn't have much time to try shooting after reassembling tonight. It gets dark here at night. :?

watertown, nice to now your starting to make some head way on your beny. I`ve was wanting to disassemble mine, for cleaning but now shes shooting awesome. Did you take any pictures, wuld nice to see all the different seals so I can start collecting essential rebuild parts. So glad you got those filings and lubes out of the C.Chamber, soon you`ll be getting dime size groups. Thats the problem with chinese guns, just whipped together without a care in the world.

Took a fee shots last night, and from the result I had a permasmile. Out of 6 rounds, 5 landed in a group smaller then a dime with the 6th just about an eighth to the right. Loven this gun more and more everyday, I think the wife might get jealous!

I still have more work to do, the 10 shot group at 10 meters is still about an inch and I would like to get to about 1/4 inch. Several shots will make a jagged hole and then suddenly a couple of shots will be slightly off. I hate to think it might be me.
The seals are very simple. I was expecting a number of O - rings but no, just flexible plastic cup washers on the end of the plunger. Reminded me of the old style where leather cup washers were used. If I knew where to order I would get new seals as the iron filings left marks in the seals. I don't know if the marks make any difference but I would replace them anyway. I need this rifle to be accurate as a local farmer has asked me to do some pest control in his barns, so I need a low power rifle so as not to make holes in the steel roof. I could just use my Weihrauch HW97KT but I don't want to get it marked up by using it in a barn.

Great! Watertown.. To get any parts for you Benji. Drop Eric at Scopes & Ammo..a note and ask questions; sure- he will answer. New Piston seal and Breech Seal cost arround ca$8.00/10.00 Not expensive at all. Go to a Honda Parts Dept. and get 60 Moly paste ca$20.00 . As a put together compressor got this in 48 inches.. works great.

2240mod, thanks for letting me know where to get seals. You must have read my mind, this is the type of clamp I used as a spring compressor with a pipe coupling against the block that sits against the end of the gas ram. When things are lined up the retaining pin just drops into the holes and the ram is safely contained in the rifle. I have some proper lubricants but this rifle doesn't look like it would need very much except a little chamber oil on the seals. No heavy springs rubbing against the sides of the cylinder. I may have to do some modification at the hinge area for the barrel/breech as it is a very poor design, stress more on one side than the other and plastic washers for spacers.

Are the breech washers plastic, or teflon? Wasn`t sure if replaement parts for these guns were available yet! I`ll have to PM Eric @ scopesandammo one of these days, or just hope hes following this thread. I defifnitly want a replacement pistion and breech seal and eventually a ram, now this gun has become a Keeper.

The breech washers appear to be high density plastic. But I have been wrong before. There was one time I thought I was wrong but I was mistaken. :D

I used a brass shim at the breech joint and the groups tightened up. Target 1 was during sighting in, target 2 is after sighting.

Right on Buddy! Glad you got that beny shooting well, watertown. Great rifle for the buck! What pellets were grouping the best for you once you got things figured out?

So far the best pellets are RWS Superpoint Extra, 14.5 gr. I will be trying other pellets when time and weather permits as I have been shooting outside in the snow.

I`ll have to try those pellets down my beny`s pipe, once I get around to ordering more ammo. Just waiting for sniper Dam to receive his order of pellets from JSB, then I`ll order my winter supply.

WAtertown, are you using the center poin scope that came with your rifle? Might try the scope again, now that my beny has found an accurate pellet.

I have tried 3 scopes on the rifle trying to find the problem with shifting POI, and am back to the Center Point that came with the rifle.

I sure hope I was reallt tired last night or someting because I removed the red dot andmounted the scope, which I find I was just way to shacky so put the red dot back on. Thats when it started, not to be able to hit sh@t! I was expecting tha my POI would move becauseof the remounting but I couldnt get a group smaller then an inch and a quarter. I had to put the gun down after 10 mintutes, my skin was turning green and I could feel my sweater getting very tight. I`ll try again tonight.........
