I was wondering if there is a Field Target organisation in Southern Alberta?

If there isn't one already, I'd be interested in helping put one together.

Cheers

Dave :D

I would be interested in helping out to get a club going - for sure
We just need people to speak up to see if it is worth while

Hi Rocker

What we need is just to find out who is interested initially, So if anyone is interested in shooting maybe a simple competition, could you please post on here or PM me and depending on the interest, we can try to get something going

Regards

Dave :)

I can look at weekend warriors paint ball club
They have a indoor area that we might be able to go to
They also have 4500 psi compressor from the fire station on site so us pcp fellows would have access to clean hpa
BBQ on site
We would need to supply our own pellet traps - I can make some - if needed
I will get out there and have a look and talk with Mike about rates.
It is central to the Calgary and Red Deer area - 45 min. away from both locations
Any other places anybody else know about ??
Fields with gophers are available as well

Well - talked with Pat [ Mike was out ] and

140 ft. long shooting area
BBQ on site
40 deg. inside temp - just above 0 C
4500 PSI Air on site - air cost - 5.00 / person for the day - clean dry beathing air
Building rent - 12:00 till 6:00 - 300.00
6:00 till 9:00 - 150.00
If we share the area with paintball guns [ will partition a area of for us - about 30ft. by 140 ft. ] rent will come down
We supply the pellet traps
lock-up room for guns when we are not by them - with camera
open to reserve time/ dates

On nice days - I can find some fields with gophers or targets outside

Any opinions - any interest
We should get a club going
Would be fun to meet everyone and do some shooting
The more that come out - the cheaper for everyone
I will even supply the 1st 50 burgers and buns
Soft drinks on site

Anyone else know of a area to gather
If no response - I take it that there is no interest in getting a club going
That would be a shame
I have some pics - just not good at posting yet

Hey Brian

Top Man!! That sounds brilliant. Where is it? Sounds like a great bit of Sunday sport to me. Definitely up for getting a club going. I'll see if I can recruit a few from down this end.

I'd better find a gun and scope now.

Dave

to find directions go to the
weekendwarriors.ab.ca for map
In between Olds and Didsbury on the 2A and then West on the Amerada road - about10 miles. Easy to get to.

I will try my CO2 adapter at 850 psi and see what I can get the power down to on my Condor.

Or maybe I can swap out my .25 barrel with my 17" .22 barrel and also zero my one compact scope to the 17" .22 barrel and leave my other scope zeroed for my .25 config? I do not have a .177 barrel I can test. Unfortunately I really don't have anything precise enough and low powered to play in the FT world.

Either way driving out and shooting with different types of airguns sounds fun.

I am going to pester my brother to build some traps out of 1/4 plate and pipe.
Will be like the ones for shooting 22's at - very heavy duty.We can get together and try them out before the meet
It will be lots to stop a .25 Condor - as long as you can hit the target
Just kidding
I know your a sharp shooter and we will be in trouble but I will try and give you a run for your money.
Any one else you know that would be interested in joining - please spread the word

That would be great a I really like my Condor in the .25 configuration. As long as the target is 3X3 foot I should okay on hitting it 1 out 5 shots.

Randy

The indoor site would be great for a pistol shoot. I have half a dozen targets that are ok for pistol shooting but they won't stand up to any high power stuff.Maybe we could get together some weekend in Olds or Didsbury and have a look at that building and figure out what we need to put a shoot together

Hey Randy, I have a nice piece of 1/4" plate that measures 4ft X 4ft that you could hit (even with that cannon, lol) I also have some 1/4" Kevlar vest inserts that tend to slow those big boys down

Cheers

Dave :)
