we got some raptor pellets in today...i tried some for speed when i just got home.
my tuned bsa metor in does 707 with a hobby pellet.
it does 802 with the raptor....i believe they are 5 grains......they cost 8.45 for 100....which is 2 packs that look like a bullet.
both markham and missi have them (i did not call the missi store but was there when they where ordered so they should have them as well!

That seems rather stiff for only a hundred pellets. Mind you, the Prometheus was just as bad.

Good penetration, but what about accuracy?
I heard they are a mess on this job, and they dont worth their price at all.
Someone said he had shot a crow with it, and when he had recoverd the pellet (yack!) it looked like brand new... no deformation at all. So tough, poor deformation, great speed, good penetration but no accuracy. Not my words, i didnt test it...

They also have the ballistic coefficient of a wadcutter.
They start out fast, but they also loose it FAST.
and the penetrate hard materials well (eg steel cans), but i shot a couple into a phone book and they didn't do any better then crosman points.

Not as horrible as i've seen some people put them down as...kinda fun to play with, but for the price i dont realy have any desire to buy them again.

In the novelty pellet category i like Gamo Rockets better, lead 9 grains or so, with a mini-bb steel tip. They are also moderately accurate.
