:shock:I was outside shooting my HB22.when i was inspecting the underside with the pump arm extended i noticed a brownish coating on the inside of the piston chamber!I have a fine coating of rust lining inside the whole tube. The gun pumps-shoots great-holds air great,i put 15 rounds through it at 10 pumps each this afternoon with no problem.Obviously,my 8yr storage was not dry enough. There is no other sign of rust anywhere else on the gun.HELP!!!!Can i fix this?or am i hooped!!!I leave it to the people who know better than me.Help this fool.

Are you sure that you are not looking at brass.
The inside of my Binjamin/Sheridan .20 H9A pump tube is made of brass a rusty color anyway.
In my owner's manual they recommend not to pump that pistol more then 8 times

I know that the barrel is brass, but the tube it's attached to is brass to?I also just rubbed a q-tip inside and no rust on it.I need to get some brighter light in there to see and to be sure.

OH!OK.So the inside of your tube looks like it has a very smooth layer of rust? But it's just the look of the brass? How many drops of oil do you use on your pump? Thanks

1 or 2 on the piston + 1 on each hinges only if it looks or fills dry
Remember oil does not evaporate

Thanks under500fps,i would say that you are right about the rust really being the brass showing through.I guess the piston it self would have rust to if this was the case.Anyway, you helped me from having a panic attack! Thanks!!
