Just wondering if anyone had used EZ Liner on any gun stocks before.

I am wanting to add some extra grip to a stock I have and thought this would work. I thought I could use it like spray paint. Tape off and spray the areas I need to get extra grip on.

I have done Bedliner finishes on 3 rifles using different brands, results were pretty good. The texture is totally up to you depending on how you apply it. Do a search on the forum for others results

Would plasti dip be better? It could be removed if you get tired of it or if gets damaged and I think it's available in more colors...

I looked at Plasti Dip and EZ Liner was recommended over it. I will be using it on the forestock and plam swell of a composite stock. I do not want it to peal off. How easily does Plasti Dip come off ?

Does the EZ Liner stay tacky or will it loose some over time ?

It is not tacky, but you can make it very textured if you want.

I have used that exact product on one rifle and I will use it again on the next one. The texture is controlled by how far you hold the can away, I was about 18" away when I got the texture I liked. It was easy to use but it is pretty noxious stuff,I wouldn't use it without good ventilation. The best part is that you will need several coats so you can practice with each coat and the texture can be altered with each coat if you don't like one then just recoat with a different distance and the texture will change with a single application or at least thats how it worked for me. You will need to prime it first, I used grey metal primer it worked well but its up to you of course. Good luck.

Thanks for the input. I might try the Plasti Dip. It comes in clear which might work better for me.

I sell Plasti dip at my work, it peels off pretty easy and there is no touching it up once it does. If you want a temporary covering then the plasti dip is fine, but it's not really permanent. Plus it seems to cost a lot for what it is. It comes in pink though.

Have you seen the guys doing complete cars with the thing? Looks pretty good if you like a matte car color. I wanted to do the summer rims on the wife passat but she prefers the chrome look... obviously she's not the one who has to clean them.

I would not put plasti dip on wood. I find it does not work that well on tools.

We sell it at work for rims, and guys do try to do complete cars. The problem is that it lifts around the edges and then you are screwed.... you can't touch it up, all you can do is peel it off and re-spray the whole panel or whatever. Seems like a waste for what it costs!

At 50$ per gallon for a whole car it's seems pretty cheap to me. You buy a white car and when you're tired you make it blue and when you hand it over to your wife your repaint it pink.

I guess my question would be will it stay tacky ? I want to use it on the pump of a pump action shotgun for extra grip. If it peels off every time I go out that is not good either.

Concerning the EZLiner...once dry, does it have a rubbery feeling touch or a hard PVC feeling touch?
