I put together a short tutorial on how to connect your Chrony to your PC.
I started out searching the www for how to do it, and got a breakthrough on the Yellow:
http://www.network54.com/Forum/79537/th ... le+for+USBI am using a demo (free) vesion of ChronoConnect:
http://www.chronoconnect.com/Here is a picture of the RS232-USB connector. I bought my converter off e-bay
http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie ... 6689987015It took 2 weeks to arrive in my mailbox, and 5 minutes to hook it up.
There are 4 TTL pins on the edge, GND goes to the back of the headphone jack, TX to the middle, and RX to the tip.

The USB port powers up the Chrony, although it flashes LB the connection works fine.

Then you fire up ChnonoConnect (in demo mode, unless you buy a licence):

You have to click on the top left line Chronohraph:, select your make (Chrony in my case), then the COM port. Only one port should be available normally. In Demo mode the software doesn’t remember any settings so you have to go through this each time you start up the program.

Then you click on Gun: Select rifle or pistol, and then select the make model calibre and enter the pellet info or select from the list.

Now you are ready to dump data from the Chrony. I have only dumped data from memory so far, haven’t tried it in on-line mode. To dump the data to the PC, click on Chrony Status box (upper right)

And a new window opens with some gibberish, there is a pull down box at the bottom, so you can select which string you want to dump to the PC… in my example it’s string 5… and there are 6 strings stored. Then click the
Dump String # button and the spreadsheet will fill up.
You can then click the
Save Capture button on the upper right and a PC save screen opens up with the default to save to the root directory of the program, and with a filename taken from the gun and pellet description.

Repeat as required.
The ChronoConnect website also allows you to graph your shot string, if you don’t know how, or can't bother open the .CSV file in Excel to plot it manually.
http://www.chronoconnect.com/?page=graphmeYou just Browse to your CSV file and then Upload it and viola… your string is plotted.

Total cost, $2.22 and a scrounged old headphone cable.
Enjoy.
