Rick, no reason nylon won't work...very common as a sealing material in regulators.

Bonded washer still holding. :)

Chewy, if you like, send me your address and I'll send you over a black hipac seal to keep you shooting, while you figure out a longer term solution.

I never had a problem with mine leaking until I ordered up some new face seals some months after buying my first Hipac. Couldn't get over 1800-2000 psi without air leaking past the face seal. What I ended up doing was putting a drop of cyanoacrylate (crazy glue) under the black seal, quickly installing the seal and screwing in the Hipac. Left it alone for 10 minutes or so and then filled it. It hasn't leaked since, and that's filling up to 2900 psi. I have 3 Hipac guns, and one of them had been sitting on a shelf for at least 3 months. I hooked it up to my Benji pump and it still had over 2k pressure in it.

Crazy!! Good idea though, seals it on the bottom. Anyone have any bad thoughts about doing that?

I got one more trick to try V30 and then you may here from me - thanks for the kind offer!

Making washers tonight Chewy! I'll send you a couple thicknesses. I'll include the other item also in the shipment! Just having it welded up.

This is a little late in the process, but since you put a disco stem in the valve, are you sure that's not where it's leaking? If air is coming out the barrel, it is common to have to seat the disco stem with a drill and some toothpaste or light abrasive. Just a thought. Regards, Tom

You usually don't even need toothpaste.... I just chuck the stem in a protable drill and spin it 2 sec. in each direction while pulling gently on the stem, repeating twice.... 99% of the time they seal right up.... If you inspect the seat in the valve and on the poppet with a magnifier and see a nice bright, continuous ring on both, you should be OK.... I agree that without doing that, Disco stems leak ~50% of the time....

Try smooth out the disco stem and try again with some soft plastic of some kind. It could very well be the stem.
