Do any of you folks have sizes? It has been a great compressor until tonight, shut off at 2700 psi (400 psi early), bled everything off to verify gauges, will not pass 1600 psi now. I suspect something in 1st stage has let go.

It is likely the first stage check o-ring. You should have got a spare with it.

The only O-rings I have a problem with are the white high-pressure ones.... they are 1/4" OD x 1/8" ID and I believe a high quality polyurethane?.... I bought mine direct, they were cheap, and they sent them in an envelope, also cheap....

According to the shoebox site, the problem will be with the second stage, lower cylinder o-rings. The 1/8th white urethane ones.

Those are the only ones I have ever replaced.... the white 1/8" ID lower ones.... Actually, at 75 hours I just swapped the two around (high pressure to low pressure side) as only the left hand (inside) high pressure one (closest to the check valve) was worn.... then at 150 hours I replaced both.... I now have over 250 hours with no further problems.... I think the piston rod is polishing itself and reducing the O-ring wear.... I've never even had my first stage (the upper one with the 1/4" rod) apart....

Back up and running!

Found left white oring in back check valve section of lower cylinder...........????, oring looked good, swapped the two white orings around (no new parts). Fired up, dead headed against closed scuba, hit 3300 psi in no time

The locknut was loose......maybe the culprit!
