Open the bolt and pump while listening at the breech. If you hear the air coming out there, it is the valve stem, if not it's time for a pump cup. As far as mods, there is always the flat-top piston and valve, port matching (no larger than ~.140"), lighter valve spring, trigger work........ How far do you want to go?

I want to take it far. as a project. there is no air leaking, there is no air going into the gun. At all. I am a tinkerer, I love moding stuff. So instructions on all these mods would be awesome! Is there a site, or place where I can get this information to do? :drinkers:

You're on one. Search for flat-top valve posts. Just about any mod for the Crosman pumpers can be done to your 66. 8) A softer spring in the valve allows for both more air in and more pumps before air retention.
