I'm going to strip my phantom down and install a spring shroud And a domed pivot for the piston end of the spring. I figured I might as well install a seal while I was in there. Are there aftermarket seals available and do they add any advantage over a factory seal? If so... who's got 'em?

There is no advantage to an aftermarket seal (if you can find one)- the factory urethane is the same used by most aftermarket seals and most of the "high end" manufacturers as well. The days when the factory Chinese seals in this rifle platform were made of substandard material stopped about 7 years ago.

I think what the OP wants is just a replacement seal for the Phantom. And yes replacing the factory seal is an advantage because often the one installed at the factory gets nicked and worn by the rough and sharp internals during assembly, and possibly during use. Scopes and Ammo can supply replacement seals, and that's all you need. :drinkers:

The seal in mine looked like polyethylene going by memory. It sure wasn't urethane. Mine was purchased in 2008.

You may have had a rifle produced a year or two earlier- i.e. before they all went to urethane. I had people still getting rifles in 2010 that had obviously been on a shelf for 2-3 years (i.e. a Walmart without alot of airgun turnover)- so this is not unheard of.

I went to the Scopes and Ammo site but all I could find was a piston, spring, seal kit. I just need a seal. (Need being a strong word... I just figured I'd put in a seal while I had it apart.)

Do you sell just the seal Eric?
