Hey, balloons, I hadn't thought of that! They'd make a great long distance target next time I get out into the woods for some pistol plinking. Last time I was at a loss for anything to try beyond about 50 yards but a balloon would be perfect, probably popping even out to 100 yards with a modestly powered air pistol. Fun for the kids too!

Or for my 7 year old son, how about sparkles and baby powder. On a sunny day that'd be spectacular exploding from a slightly over-inflated balloon.

LOL, Yea I think I'll stay away from the primers. I'm not interested in risking my safety or anyone elses.

I think I'm liking the match head or cap gun caps in a bottle cap idea. It's safe and make a little bang once shot.

You DO need a PAL for primers as they are reloading components unless someone gets them for you.
Shrapnel is indeed guaranteed, so best used from a safe distance where they are worth the challenge and will have lost their energy by the time they reach you.

Outdoor target for sure and louder then most airguns, so consider caps as low power alternative if the neighbors will think you're going powder on them.
There's always balloons.

Reloading components do not require a pal.

Adding balloons for the next trip to the dollar store.

As you can see I failed 2nd grade art. If I had some talent they'd look like Mr. Bill. :) But, I will release the fire within their plasticine hearts. lol

Try play dough next time and see if you get a bigger bang. Since it gets hard, it should contain it better ??

I will have to get some roll caps next time I see some. The dollar store in town only has plastic caps

As a kid, we had a large forest behind our street
Seems like a lot of people in the 80's liked to dump their old tv sets there :?
Slingshots loaded with rocks vs. tv tube = BIG POP!!
Ahh the fun we had as kids :)

We used to sneak on the construction sites and fill empty pop bottles with Portland powder and throw rocks at them. We called it "husha-boom".
