Just finished roughing out the shoulder stock. Still need,s 4 more levels of sanding. The pics are what it looks like with a soaking of water to raise the grain after 60 grit. The yellow wood is Pau Amerelo from Brazil.

Good Lord Joe, how can you possibly call that "roughing" ??? It's beautiful and then some. I guess you consider end of roughing to be right when you're ready to start finishing. I'd been thinking of it as more like "roughly the right shape, time to put the rasp and chisel away and slow down a bit" :)

But wow, that is looking good. Bravo.

It started out as a 2240, then a 2250b and when I get my custom tube from Derek Vinyard, I don"t know what to call it. any suggestions.

Yea the bull barrel is what stared the whole ball rolling. I guess I got carried away, which is normal for us addict,s. Can't wait for the new tube from Derek. I also have a leupold scope coming with side wheel AO. This thing should look sweet when finished. I did another accuracy test in very light wind and got a .8" 5 shot group center to center, at 50 yds. When it,s all done, I will do the whole run down for accuracy, pellet speed, shot count etc...etc...Thank,s for the feed back. Cheer,s.

Great stuff! Bull barrels and shrouded barrels look just wicked! Definitely show us your final set-up and your gun report/write-up! Side focus scopes sure are a pleasure to use.

Very nice there Joe. Like how you transitioned the two pieces of timber (lol) together. Very beautiful grain.
