So here's my result at an embarrassingly short 10m. I just made the challenge. Barely.

Good shooting, my respect to anyone who shoots offhand, I'm too shaky for it

You should put a hologram on those so people don't just copy and paste them...

Very generous of you :drinkers:

Oops, sorry, I should have put more detail. No, there's no way I could shoot that offhand. I shot seated with the front of the rifle on a bean bag, with the rifle scoped. I'm just a wimp :) If/when I manage to do the challenge offhand with iron sights I'll post again!

I can see why you'd think it was open sights though - I really ought to be stacking pellets at that distance, but I can't. It will be interesting to see if the new barrel makes a difference when it arrives.

At least the ball is rolling, I'm interested to see other peoples groups at various distances. Vitaly already posted a really nice (near perfect) set at 10m in the original thread. I'm looking forward to trying this again at GTAC.

I decided to try my Crosman 70 performance on this CAF challenge, not bad for airgun made in 1975, almost 40 years old! Some groups were opened up more then others, after all it is CO2 airgun, still my HW springers shows better performance.

Crosman 70 with Leapers 3-12x40 scope, H&N Finale match 0.177, 10m rested

Well Vitaly I am having some deja vue here.
Congratulations. Between your gifts and your credit from our deal you are banking $45 plinker bucks. That's a decent holster almost!!
And you are now banished to the 100 meter range!!
And remind me never to play pool with you.......

Time sure slips by! Must be getting old. Well I finally got around to trying the 10 metre thing on my home practice range, shooting from beside my workbench out the bathroom window into a trap set up hanging from the eaves. I seem never to get out of town, so 10 metres is all I can do so far except for a fun plinking session at a friend's cabin in August, about 40 metres downhill. Didn't bring any targets along, just shot holes in a rusty bit of metal until my wife said it was time to stop bothering the quietude of the forest... oh well.

Anyway, this is with my wire-stocked Brocock Atomic .22" pistol, which I've found much to awkward to shoot as a pistol so I use it carbine style, with an RWS 4X compact rifle scope. Pistol and scope both from SSSO. Shooting JSB Exact Jumbo 15.89gr pellets. Rested on a 3/4" x 1-1/2" aluminum bar clamped to my workbench with a Jacobson clamp on the top end, wrapped in a rag. Not the steadiest of single-point rests, so I'm fairly sure the carbine's capable of slightly tighter groups if I ever get around to a sandbag test. Still, not bad, with about a 0.35" (just under 9mm) centre to centre maximum spread in a 10 shot group. Not an 'official' entry into this challenge as my trap doesn't really allow for that sort of bullseye layout. It's my 10 metre formal air pistol trap, hence the 17cm x 17cm pistol target with 11mm 10 circle.

I managed about a 0.60" 10 shot group the other day un-rested. Bit more vertical spread than horizontal. Heartbeats. That must be really hard for competitive rifle shooters to master, the chest booming regularly with the elbow against the ribs. In 10 metre air pistol I don't see much heartbeat influence on the sights.

I had almost forgotten about this. Well done Gerard. I can relate to having to open doors/windows. move laundry/shelves to get 10m inside at home.... or inside and outside combined!

Rick your coupon is waiting to hit send!
