I was going to sell this rifle but fortunately I changed my mind. Instead I had it serviced, with the fatigued original springs replaced by a Macarri spring. It now shoots a JSB Exact Diabolo 8.44 grain pellet with an average MV of 630 fps. I replaced the diopter sights with a scope. Wow, can this rifle shoot! I'm sure it can meet the Challenge at 40 yards.

OK, when you're shooting like this with different rifles, I think it says a lot about your marksmanship. I'm beginning to feel really embarrassed about posting my crappy effort at 10m

Seriously though, it's great, inspirational even, to see people posting results like these.

I always thought Fwb was a precision target rifle. I guess I was right. Nice shootin pard.

I think this could turn into a 30 yard challenge!
I'll have a go next time I'm plinking with the Prosport. :D

Thank you for the kind words, fellow airgunners.

Indeed it is. In its day it was a top-of-the-line 10 meter target rifle. It has now been superseded by PCP rifles for 10m target competition.

Give it a go, timmytree. Let us see how well your trusty rifle and you do together. I have a feeling you will shoot quite well.

Wow PG! You're on a roll here. You've just inspired me to try the 30 yard challenge again in the near future with my Springer when I can get out to the range again. What I noticed about shooting Springers after 30 yards is that the hold and follow through principle is of UTMOST IMPORTANCE. Of course, having the right pellet for the barrel will definitely aid in consistent group size as the distance increases. I found that the slightest movement or wiggle/wobble will send the pellet into stray land and out of the tight group zone. I'm hoping you could do this at 40 yards or more soon. This is inspiring and motivating to witness your marksmanship. Someone has to crack the 50 yarder one day!
