So we were just sitting around the lunch room today, chit chatting
I brought up the idea of making some steel discs mounted on steel rods to use as distance markers AND targets
The shop guy says "Gimme a few hours"
......
A few hours later I have just what Ive been looking for, 8 of them!!
They are 3 feet tall, sharpened on one end to pound into the ground and the other end has a steel disc welded to it
Im going to use these when I go out in the field to mark out every 10 yards and I can stick "Shoot N C's" to the round end as targets!!

Yeah
They are about 3 feet long, 2 inch discs that are 1/4" thick (cutoffs from a long 2 inch thick rod)

Princess Auto sells driveway reflectors that are similar in size and have a reflector mounted to the plate, but there are like $10 each, these were much more affordable :)

I wonder if there's a way to stick clay pigeons on top of a stick for the same idea.

I have those from Daisy! Bought two 60 packs of little 2" clays from ScopesandAmmo.

Sound like a bit of bubble gum chewing to make them stick.

Yes, I remember seeing those before.

A little hot glue on generic clay pigeons would work too.

Nice :D

You can tie ribbons to them to gauge wind direction and speed.

Just wanted to update the thread
These targets worked great, my nephew measured out every 10 yards and stuck one in the ground out to 50 yards and put a few random ranged ones off to the side
The 3" plates can take the hit from my 97 at about 17 ft lbs without bending (unlike the PA resettable ducks which have been wrecked)
The only problem with them is that they spin when hit, I've got to find a way yo stop that
I got some pink ribbon from the dollar store and tied 2 feet of it to each one to indicate wind
You gotta love cheap targets!!
