so i have noticed, while watching you tube, that ten meter rifle shooters will often look down briefly during the aiming cycle???
what's up with that?

They have a monitor that shows where they are hitting on the target. Not always visible.

Wondering why they would check where they hit, before they shoot. I could understand a break for the eyes to focus at a neutral distance and then go back to the sights. When shooting pistol, I always starred at nothing in particular at a relaxing distance, before raising the gun and acquiring the sights and target. Maybe I was peculiar, but that is what I did. Will still do it with a scope if I hold too long and the image blurs slightly or I start to move too much.
