Hello,
I am about to buy a Crosman 1377 but I still have some questions left which I could not find on the internet.
1. Is the F-Type equal to the CA version?
2. Where are the differences between the US and the CA(F-Type) version?
-As far as I know there is a bleed hole in the back of the valve, so not all air will go thru the barrel.
-And there is an air transport part which is a bit smaller in the CA version but that doesn't do much the the fps.
3. US + Flat top = CA + Flat top? Or in other words: Are all (main) changes made to reduce the FPS in the CA version "fixed" by installing the flat top piston upgrade?

Greetings Grayscal

Are you referring to an F inside a pentagon mark? Generally, these are on airguns that are considered "low powered", according to some international threshold. 500fps would be a likely bet, so the US counterpart to a Canadian (CA)1377 wouldn't necessarily have an F mark...
And what Bob said...

An F inside a pentagon is only for the German airgun market (for exporters). That designates airguns that do not exceed 7.5 Joules of energy at the muzzle. Those airguns do not require any licence or registration in Germany.
That would indicate that the 1377 with an F inside a pentagon was re-imported to Canada from Germany or that those guns originally for the German export was re-directed to Canada, or that the manufacturer always puts an F inside a pentagon on each gun just in case that they would be exported to Germany.
I can bet that any 1377 purchased in Canada (with an F or without) wouldn't be close to 500fps. Much lower than that.

The Canadian 1377 is almost completely pointless in stock form. They didn't de-tune it they gutted it.

Grayscal - the reluctance to answer your questions probably relates to the strict forum rules about modifying pistol velocity. Having worked on a 1377 I can say for sure that if you want to do that you *must* have a chrony so that you can check your pistol remains sub-500 fps for any number of pumps up to 10. Ideally for any number of pumps (possible because the fps/#pumps graph forms a bell curve with the fps dropping off as you head towards valve lock-up). Canadian law has extremely draconian options for offences relating to an air pistol that shoots >500 fps, so you really don't want to go there.

I stand corrected. Thanks, Rav...
