I am going to bar my windows on my ManCave this coming summer. They'll be ornamental looking but functionally strong. I have a habit of leaving several guns dissembled on my work tables. You can't see into either window I am baring up, but out of advice I am baring them. Yesterday I lagged the Stack-On Safe to the floor and wall.

Y'know I have heard of thieves trying to climb down chimneys to break into a home. Maybe we should put bars on them too.

But then Santa couldn't come.....

At the farm there is the original cistern in the basement with 2 foot thick stone walls and I dream of knocking a door in it and making it the fortress of solitude and storage. I like the idea of a thick wood castle type door and a bar door in front. I even though about leaving it sealed perimeter and making a hatch and stair from above but kyboshed that as there is no likely place upstairs to hide the hatchway....unless I put the hutch on hidden wheels...hmmmm......

We have bars on the farm basement windows since they aren't alarmed. And bars on a side window at the house that used to have an AC unit in it thus un-alarmed in the summer. nice looking stuff made by a local company.

It's not restricted as mentioned already above. But I wanna say that I had such a case and I didn't like it. Maybe that's a design feature or it was just defective but once I couldn't get into it because of a really bad lock. The only way to solve this problem was to call a locksmith https://emergencylocksmithvancouver.ca/locksmith-locations/locksmith-surrey/ who managed to open it up.
