I'm new at this but a lot of guys are using over/under with modified and full chokes or a good auto loader from what I am seeing.

O/U's and pump guns. Autoloaders are slower than pumps, if the person using the pump knows what he is doing. On top of that, autoloaders can be ammo specific and not work with a wide variety of ammo.
A good Model 12 or model 870 pump gun is a better trap gun than an autoloader. O/U's actually rule on doubles. POP/POP Full/Mod for trap, IC/IC or CYL/IC for skeet.

what he said lol.
I'm testing a BT-99 this Sunday but might be a hard sell compared to my pair of 870's.
purely dedicated trap rig being single shot.

I know I'm late to the party here, but this gun looks like an internal hammer. It's cooked by squeezing the barrle release causing the extra resistance you notice. It will likely stay stiff. If you ever want to drop the hammer with out shooting a round, squeeze barrle release, pull trigger and slowly let down.
