I finally made it to my second GTAC meeting last night after a few weeks of being ill and had a lot of fun shooting my HW98. I shot ten .177 pellets per target and shot ten targets during the evening for a total of 100 pellets. These are the two best targets that I shot. I think the distance is approximately 50 feet. Can't wait for next week when I am also going to try the CP99 for the first time.

Thanks! :D It was super fun, and I suspect I will improve with more practice also.

Well done! I have such little time I tend to bring my lever action and bang odd a many shots at tin plates as I can then run!!!! Ask Jim as it made him laugh as I did it. When I have more time I will drag out the shooting rest and target guns.

Where did you get those tin plates? They were fantastic, especially towards the end when you shot each one off the wall in turn :D

Good job on the groups there Sopwith. I didn't realize you were doing so well until the end of the evening - I'd have been whooping and hollering all the way through :)

Thanks Murray and Jim! :D Yeah, it is super fun to plink non-paper targets. I did that a little my first meeting and it was great. I think Anthony said he might set up the moving targets next meeting, so I'm looking forward to seeing what that is all about, if it is indeed set up. :)

We can get it set up for sure, and it's great fun, especially for those with enough power to knock the paddles down. My little 177s can't do it, although we've been talking about replacing some of the paddles with lighter ones. I have to settle for blowing the stickers off :)
The only downside is that it's pretty noisy - it gets a bit grating after a couple of hours!

Remind me to put up one of the smiley face foam balls for you next week - those are very satisfying to shoot too. Just make sure that there is backstop (and not the gap between) behind the target when you pull the trigger.

Nice Groups Sopwith! Over time and once the barrel settles in when you've put close to 1,000 pellets through it, the groups will shrink considerably down to a dime size. See ya next week at the range.
