Oooooh... pretty.... What is the wood? Is it 'stablized' with some plastic resin or is that a finish put on the wood?

I honestly don't know for sure, but suspect Walnut...they are Ricks grips (Rick Andres...Iagent on this forum) lightly used. The other grips I have from Rick have a (very nice) finish of some sort on them, these likely the same.

Yeah, suspected walnut root/stump wood, but it could have been an exceptionally dark maple or maybe ammonia treated to 'age' the wood. Walnut sure has some remarkable visual effects at times. Been on the lookout for some European walnut burl with very fine pin knot structure for a long while now but it's scarce over here it seems.

Sadly yes. My next splurge will be either a webley hurricane or an HW45. Had a webley a few years back and stupidly sold it

What's the difference between a Webley Hurricane and a Tempest, Longer Barrel?
