Please give us a review with details on the number of pellets fired, just in case you intend to shoot your Cometa Indian a lot. There have been some reports of the plastic loading mechanism cracking under heavy use and I'm curious if the Cometa engineers have already strengthened their plastic parts.

Well that's a switch usually on this website there is only compliments, positive comments and support.
Must have hit a nerve somewhere?
I've heard one report of the typical guy that can't read a manual before he starts to play, and shoots off the
gun without the cocking arm fully locked and the breech still open, he probably did this a number of times
before he said he noticed a crack in the breech? Some people can bugger anything, these people rarely tell
the full story. I find it hard to believe that it broke that easily, the plastic used is high quality, more like a ballistic nylon,
in any event, no other parts that take any stress are plastic, just cosmetic, sights, grips etc.
The Alecto is 80% plastic and no one including myself has any complaints.
Chances are the breech problem is a pretty isolated case, I doubt that a company like Cometa would build a gun for
twenty years, and not redesign an inferior part, if they had many complaints.
Anyhow, so far I love this gun, actually the breech and loading port is a great design, injects the pellet about 1/4 inch
into the barrel, the cocking lever design is the best, kind of 'rack and pinion', has resistance, but a ten year old could do it.
The finish of the gun is first class.
Shoots with a feel of power, much like the HW45, but a little more noise and a little less kick.
And this thing smokes and diesels like a Caterpillar Tractor, great fun!
I think this gun will be one of my favorites! (unless I break the breech?

Actually arrived Yesterday Alecto .22cal and Alecto .177cal Long Barrel.
Tough to find, but worth the wait! Quite possibly the last .22 in Canada?

You have my full support, Ejack, as I am an air pistolero just like you.

The reason I was asking for your eventual feedback as regards the durability of the Cometa Indian is because I have been thinking about buying one too from DL Airguns and thus am concerned about the alleged reports of cracking plastic parts related to the breech mechanism.

D&L is where I got mine, they have been carrying them for quite a while, they are the one that
could tell you of Complaints.
I know of one on the web, I think the others are just that, Alleged!
I really don't see an issue at all, especially now that I had some experience with it's operation,
unless it's too much to ask, to close the breech before firing!
That's why I went ahead and bought one. Definitely good value.
I'll tell you whether I'm glad I did very soon, as I've been under the weather with Allergy season,
cutting into my shooting time, so far I really like it!

Thanks Ejack! A nickel Cometa Indian might just be my next acquisition.

My wife bought for me, from Kelley of D&L Airguns, this .22 HW45 several months ago.

I've had a black Cometa Indian for a few months and I love it. It's quickly become one of my favourites.

The only issues I had with it were in the finish - there were a couple small, sharp edges left over from manufacture that were problematic. One inside the trigger guard and one on the cocking lever. A few minutes with a small fine file took care of them and apart from that it's been 100% a joy to shoot.

I got a Tempest last week, one of Your favourites, mine's a 22, surprised at the power
of this compact gun, haven't Chronyed it yet, I've got lots of testing to do this weekend!
Oh, and I did finally manage to get my hands on a brand new, Alecto .22, not to mention
a Alecto .177 with Long Barrel, guess its not an Ultra, but we'll see what it Chrony's at?

Finally got to put some lead through the Chrony today.
Man, the Cometa Indian is Barely legal! I knew it felt powerful.
I just got a Hatsan Model 25 .22cal. it's shooting around 400fps!
was disappointed as I had ordered the Model 25 'Supercharger'
but ended up with the basic, seems there was some confusion
and they don't offer the 'Supercharger' after all.
I was going to send it back, but now that I know what a beast
it is, I guess I'll keep it?

At my Front door Yesterday, .22cal shooting 365fps, not bad for an Old Girl?
