Haven't seen a notice up yet, so here we go!

Our monthly FT match at Mission will take place July 26th, the last Sunday of the month. This takes place at the Mission Rod & Gun Club. All are welcome, and it is just a $5 drop in fee to come and join us.

For directions:

http://www.missionrodandgun.com/about/location

The archery range is to your right after the gate, past the caretaker's house. You will pass a shorter archery range on the right, and if the weather is poor, we will be plinking there. If the weather is good, as usual, continue up the road and stay left, all the way to the top, where you will see us setting up. Start time is 9AM.

I highly recommend all those who are interested to give it a try! I came out on my own back in September for my first shoot, and have only missed one since! It's a great chance to work on your marksmanship, have some fun out in the great outdoors, and to meet new friends that love the sport! We do very friendly matches, safety is always a top priority, and you can get a chance to see some of the finer airguns available in action.

See you there!

Looks like my boy Haru and I will be there, thanks to Mike giving us a ride. Haru's itching to give his new rifle a proper try in the field.

Nice to see you will be there Gerard.

Hey NFG I still have someone's stick.

See you all next Sunday.

I will be there this Sunday to shoot Silhouette, and high power in the afternoon. I can't wait for next week. I might bring some people with me.

Ha ha! Yes Biagio I know you have my "stick". And again thanks for keeping it safe for me.

It's been awhile since I last posted. Just a quick update. Yes I am still around. Work (FIFA World Cup) kept me away from the last few shoots. I was working weekends and stupid long hours. Now BC Place is busy with concerts and regular games. With luck I should eventually settle into some sort of normalcy in the next few months.

At this point I have Sunday morning off but I know that will change. I really want to be there but.....

Miss all you guys and girls. See you soon I hope.

Got my hotel booked at Super 8 for Saturday night in Aldergrove. Breakfast included!
Wife concerned I won't have fun if I have to get up Sunday at 4:30 in Victoria to catch the 7:00 AM ferry.

I'll stop at Safeway to bring my lunch!

That'll be better for sure Rick, need to get a proper sleep befortle the shoostings. I'm pretty happy with how my Lane regulator has worked out in the Crosman. Only airguns I've shot before with this kind of consistency were the Pardini pistols. So now it's all down to how wobbly I am. Which rifle will you be shooting?

Bringing the Talon! Got to get it zeroed as I but on a 20MOA compensation mount that Whitewolf(Kim) sent me. I was running out of vertical travel! Guess that 3 vertical inches fro the barrel really does make a difference!

Yeah, that's the one thing that keeps me from getting onboard the AF thing. I like the scope as close to the bore as possible. I'm using a couple of 4x - 32mm scopes for that reason on the Brocock and the Crosman, as with low-rise mounts they just barely clear and I've got 33mm bore centre to optical centre on one, 34mm on the other. Doesn't make a lot of difference beyond 20 metres but for close-up stuff like the roof rats in the ivy I've been getting lately at night from 5 to 10 metres its a crucial difference. At worst I'm facing about 14mm of holdover adjustment so don't really have to pause and think much. With 3“, about 75mm, that would open up considerably and could make for a miss or two if I didn't really memorize the trajectory and get the range exactly right. Think you should be okay at FT distances though. Might just be tricky on the ~15 metre targets. Bet you didn't often have to factor in scope to bore distance in your previous life eh?

This rain sure is a relief! Of course I'm hoping it rains itself out before Sunday, but it can rain right through the next 48 hours and everything will be happier for it. That dry spell was getting ridiculous. Haven't seen a May to July hot season like that since Vancouver in 1969. Even that wasn't quite so hot.

Well gentlemen, I'm afraid I will be missing yet another shoot. With my wedding only 2 weeks away and my German guests arriving starting this Sunday, I wont be doing much of anything not wedding related. Enjoy the shoot and I will see you all next month.

60% chance of showers Gerard! I am on the 9pm ferry instead of the 7.

Will see you and Haru and Mike at 9ish!
Anyone bringing lunch? Think I will stop at Safeway and get a sandwich for lunch! I did bring Pop and chips!

I've got lunch packed for Haru and I. One of the weather services I just looked at says thunder showers. Yikes! Well, things shift during the night, we'll just have to see what it turns out like. Haru is just saying how much he wants to really try out his new Baikal. If it has to be I the rain... so be it.
