 Post subject: Homemade Magnetic Target

Seeing Pete's bowling pin target made me get off my butt and finish my magnetic target.
A while back I bought the Gamo Deluxe spinning target setup and the top spinner never worked from day one.I cut the 4 pieces off and wasn't sure what to do with them until recently.I used 1/4 inch rare earth magnets and set them in the back piece of wood.You shoot the bottom 3 targets and they stick to the magnets and the top target releases them.
I just finished trying it out and it works good.
I will be putting it in a box with the rest of the Gamo spinner on top and I will add that pic later.For now here is a pic of the target.

nice job twister. looks great. looks like fun. quite a while ago i made a small version of a duelling tree with a wood frame and hinges and my junction box cover targets. with a row of 6 of the little magnets on each side. when you shoot it the force of the bb or pellet knocks the target sticking to the magnet on one side over to the magnet on the opposite side. each side is painted a different color. it works great. if i can get off my butt today I'll do a few pics of it.

I made a dueling tree a while ago and once again underestimated the power of the magnets.The paddles don't move when I shoot them so I need to change the magnets out.It's made for outdoors so it can wait until spring.I would like to see the pics though.

I know ; those little magnets are super strong. my colt defender easily knocks the targets from side to side. ever since I found out about those little magnets I;m constantly thinking of ways to make different targets. I wish I could buy thin ;but tough metal targets somewhere though ; rather than having to cut them out of the junction box plates. I'll try some pics later.

There is a place that sells just the metal targets.They have animal shapes and stuff like that and can be used for spinners or knock down targets.I can't remember what it's called though.I think they even have a nice little dueling tree as well.
Maybe someone will know the place and paste the website for us.
I wish I knew someone around here that worked with metal so I could get them cheap.I have a bunch of magnets leftover I need to use up :lol:

here are the pics[with thanks to wllm995 for putting them on here.]. I just clamp it onto my bookshelf [that I found out at somebodies curb] shooting gallery. works great except for the paint flaking off with every shot.
