Is that cheese or a bar of soap?
Either way it needs to say "SORRY" on it. You know how overly polite we are up here! :D

I think it's a marshmallow. It still needs a 'sorry', though.

Better be careful about that thing going faster than 500fps and hitting too hard. Could be a PAL rated marshmallow.

I doubt you'll get anything higher than about 150fps with the launch less than a metre from the chrony, but hey, like that bad guy on the ground in Dirty Harry, we gots ta know man...

I found this cool sniper rifle marshmallow shooter on you tube.

Actually my large dog is in charge of the home invasion department around here.

I remembered my Therabands and set up a couple of 1.25" dowels in my bench vise, strapped a green Theraband to each, set up the Chrony F1 on a stool and let the sugar fly. My 2 shot average (I could only get 2 good readings as I kept shooting my Chrony, dammit!) were 76.72fps and 84.68fps. That's with the medium strength Theraband folded in thirds and double thickness, stretched from about 1' slack draw to 2.5' full draw. Average velocity 80.7fps, and I'll confirm your numbers on the marshmallow wadcutters having checked on a decent scale with 5 of the things then dividing by 5. Exactly 7 grams for Western Family brand ammo.

I do not think such a weapon would discourage invading pirates. Makes a heck of a loud slap on the wall though. And makes the Chrony wobble a fair bit too when I miss the space between everything. Almost knocked one of my magnetically attached LED pucks off with one shot. That one read 25.4fps so I guess it dumped 2/3rds of its energy before passing beneath that second set of lights.

Getting a dog.....I may have to look into that when I'm old and frail....but one wonders if a big guard dog jumping on an intruder would be considered excessive force.....boy....another can of worms......I'll have to research THAT idea now...but it sounds better than a weapons charge that's for sure. :)

No, big scary dogs are on the way out generally. Rick's puppies might be helpful... but somehow I doubt it from the way he goes on about their eccentricities and generally goofy way of being. At the very least avoid getting a pit bull or anything related to those as the media goes CRAZY for that stuff. Like dobermans in the 1970's. KILLER DOGS! Of course there are killer dogs. They belong to idiots who abuse them. Get yourself a poodle. No one's allergic to poodles, and a big standard poodle can be a fierce fighter. Of course they're dumb as a post, but hey, they're pretty to make up for it, if you like that sort of thing.

Murray; indeed he has been assimilated. Rick's such a nice guy! You'd never know he's dangerous to look at him. At least he hasn't given me the thousand yard stare so far...

We need to pitch in and get Rick a plaid lumber jack shirt to complete the process!
