I am looking some info and for a value on this Ross Rifles of Canada Mk III rifle. I know very little about these guns but this one seems to be well engineered. The gun has a straight pull bolt and is a .303 British calibre.

There's quite a few ross owners on CGN. You may have better luck there.

Cool old rifle.... they were infamous for seizing up in the dirt of the trenches of WWI.... I had a 1912 .22 LR cal Ross "Cadet Rifle" (also a straight pull bolt), it had the same butt-plate with a place to store the cleaning kit....

Been on CGN since 2007, Doc. Posted on there a couple of days back. We have some guys on here who are REALLY knowledgable. Thought I'd get their views.

Stay well

When I opened the Cleaning Kit flap on this one Bob, I found a couple of live rounds that look as if they have been in there a while. The really scary part though is that the rearmost round is at least 3/32" shorter than the front round and the exposed lead tip of the back round is quite splayed.

Its a nice rifle, I never owned a Ross before, LEE's , P14's. There was a guy that his project was quite interesting. He was rebarreled it and wow 3 TPI barrel thread was interesting.

There's a guy trying to sell a Ross sporter in 280 for couple grand.

The barrel on your Ross rifle have been shorten and the military stock "sporterized", there for it lost any collector value, if its in original configuration and in reasonable shape, should worth over $1,500, may be even more, however you still got an interesting rifle, I have one very similar to yours, shoots great, as for value, hard to say, my guess would be $300-$500 depend on how bad the buyer wants it.
