Has any one tried this for targets.
I can't post a picture because they are too large.
, I use a thin piece of angle iron, place magnets on top and set pellet cans on magnets., wind does not blow them off and when hit go flying and make a nice sound.
For outside use only.
The more pellets I use, the more targets I have, got 10 so far.
Easy to set up again. I use rare earth magnets I get a Lee Valley.
I thought the pellet cans were aluminum, but they are steel, so work well.

hey w. great idea. I use those little magnets with almost every target I make. I love em; super strong. what I do is drill little holes in a piece of wood [however long you wan;t it.] usually just one and a half inch wide by half inch thick strapping. then pound the magnets in with a rubber mallet so they are flush. you can pretty much do what you wan;t from there. pop cans ; anything. take a look at some of my magnetic targets and others. a little farther down on this page under ; lets see your homemade magnetic targets. some of mine are on page 2. might give you a few more ideas.

This magnet idea certainly sounds better than my rocks tin cans. Thanks for a idea that promises to be fun!

I like the magnet idea. A big improvement over the rocks in tin cans I have been using.

I just took a tennis ball, poked a very small hole with ice pick and then screwed in a cup hook. Suspended from a horizontal wire, it makes a nice, reusable target. Holding up well so far to
.177 wad cutters and BBs.
