Just ordered a brand new 22lr norinco JW25A ( kar98K copy )
from canadaammo. 217.46 $ shipped to my door.
Cant wait to get it !! I expect nothing big of a quality rifle,
for the price i paid... i buyed it for the looks first.. but i read and looked some reviews online.. and with a little effort and love its seems you can end with someting pretty good at the end.
I will post a pic and make a little review when it hits the door.

Sure looks like the old '98 Mauser. I built about a dozen custom guns on that platform.
Be interesting to see how well it shoots? You should see if you can find a vintage German Kahles(I Believe) scope for it and the sling. That would be cool!

I know Norinco is China's big supplier of military guns, but wonder what the quality is like? the first M14's to come over 25 years ago had some quality issues. I assembled a few for customers and had to work very hard to make them shoot as well as a factory Springfield Armoury rifle.

Both my nephew and myself each ordered one about 6 months ago from Canadian dealers.
At this time there were two slightly different versions available.
Check the safety very carefully.
The nephews model safety would only work if he forced it.
My model, the rifle would fire when cocked because the safety was defective.
The dealer did an exchange at his expense. The safety is still ? but at least it does
not fire when cocked.
Other than the above they are a nice rifle. Thinking of putting a scope on mine.

How did you get it for 217.46 $ shipped if the webpage price is $229.99?
Could you reveal me your secret?
I’ve been thinking about that rifle so your price is very appealing.

I heard that they did a pretty considerable effort as for the quality issues they had back in times.. will see april 13 / 2016 when i get it.
For sure i will look for a sling and a bayonet.. i already have a cheapo scope to mount on it .. but will not respect the vintage look..

:? Safety seems to be hard as f** on this rifle .. that a huge problem if the safety is defective !

Got myself a sweet ww2 styled 22lr. plinker ! :D
This packaging ( 2 of them :?: ) showed up to my door today..
Image
So a second pack was in the truck for me :?: :?: :?:
Image

Holy s*** !!? Is this a taser baton !? ( yup.. )
Image
Image
With a little disclaimer text card.... so it is legal to have this !? :D
Image
So in the box was a pack of 25 printed targets , a gunshaped ballpoint pen , hand sanitizer , a stun baton tazer flashlight with batteries and charger , propaganda publicity papers.. this was unexpected coolness ! 8)
Image
And now the main box ..
Image
This is one greasy little mo**** :? !
Image
Image
Image
YUCK !!!
Image
Image
First gun i pick up and litterally slip in between my hands ! :axe:
Now All cleaned up and properly lubed..
Image
Image
The safety is not as hard as i was expecting , mine seems just fine.
The rifle , as you can see on the pics , was shipped in heavy oil and was a P.I.T.A to clean.. edges are rough at some places.. action is stiff .. but for the price im very pleased and had some extra gizmos is cool ! Excellent service and ( first ) good customer experience with Canada ammo for me . Now cant wait to put some lead down this pipe !! 8)

There is a length restriction and that one is longer.

The hand tasers are prohibited.

can you site the law for me Frank, please?
I sold the two I had before I moved up here.
I sure wouldn't mind having one for when I am walking my three dogs. We have a wild dog around here that harasses people livestock and family pets!

The JW-25A is a surprisingly under-appreciated rifle. The bolt is rather gritty to run (I polished all the surfaces and it got better but still sticks a bit). Trigger is surprisingly crisp and light, I get about 0.75" groups at 50m out of the box with CCI mini-mags and just over 1" with the american eagle bulk stuff. Mine came with a chipped stock so I ended up re-staining it american walnut + refinished it with tru-oil. Plus, the sight came crooked for windage so I put on a cheap 10/22 front - rear sight set. Minor issues aside it's an amazing little rifle and has the looks to boot.
