Just finished the main machining work on my bronze-aluminium alloy breech. The first one was scrapped because of a broken carbide, so I had to start over. It'll be a single shot, high rise breech. There will be no rails atop of it, I'll use open sights only. Still have to make the rear plug, bolt and sight, and some de-burring, smooting and polishing to do. I plan to make a SS bolt and handle with a bronze knob. Just can't wait to finish the details 8) .

Cheers!

Well done Sir!

Are you planning any other similar accents to your build? Generous loading tray; nice for big fingers and small pellets. . .

Thanks a lot guys,very appreciated :D !

jezX, I was lucky to have this material given to me by a machinist friend who dismantled an old automated machine  .

vAgRaNt, I will build everything I can out of that bronze!!! Bolt knob, breech plug, pump arm, hopefully an air stripper, grip frame, sights, trigger... I'll also add wood grips. And yes, the loading tray is bigger than the Barbie-size one on the plastic breech  , maybe even a bit bigger than on the Crosman steel breech.

There's a friendly challenge on the CAPOF, the Gauntlet V build challenge, and my 1377 pistol will be my entry 8) .

Haven't decided yet what style of bolt I'll make, extended or hollow. What do you guys think?

I was going to donate a Ustilago stainless with brass knob bolt handle, but I realized I only have one left... I need to keep that one for myself, I still miss the legend.

Keeping building, I want to see what you come up with.

'Tis a thing of beauty! It never occurred to me that aluminum got along with other metals...
Look here: I suggest that you quit your job, sell the wife & kids, and go full time on this project.
cheers!

Thanks Arden  . Have no wife and kids to sell, but quitting one of my two full-time jobs could be an option, though  .

The new bolt handle, with a SS stem and a bronze knob, mounted on my .22 cal. hollow probe bolt (temporarily). The bolt itself is almost completed, it'll be made for .177 cal. 8)
