 Post subject: My Weihrauch HW 97 K

My Weihrauch HW 97 K:

- Stock stripped, treated with boiled linseed oil.
- Hair curler cut in two and plastic washer in silencer.
- Trigger/trigger adjustment screw stripped and polished (gold is not my thing).
- Misc new bolts/screws from stainless steel.

After two coats of oil (now five, several more to come):

They ARE nice rifles, that is for certain. The wood is nicer than plastic - but the Blackline has it's moments, when hunting.

The way you stripped your HW97K and refinished it with boiled linseed oil makes me long for my wooden stock HW97 which I sold... :-( . Great job!

That stock is stunning. I love the oiled finish. How did you strip the original varnish? Chemical stripper, or sanding or both?

I used a heat gun and a blunt knife, then sand paper.

The normally dark stained Beech-wood came out with a pleasing colour with just oil. Well done vestlening.
