Thanks. I need to work on it. It's not as sturdy as I like. And that's because the single 1/4-20 stud. Allowing everything to flex because of it. Thinking I need to make a drop plate from the 1x1 to the leg on the tripod.

That's an idea, yeah that little stud would make it tough to keep things stable.

Received some new pellets today and getting ready for the range next week. They will be the number 17 to 20 of brand/model that I test in my hw80, not many made it past 25 yards with decent groupings.

Best 4 groups so far;
Beeman FTS 554 5@25y = 3/4" 10@25y = 1" 5@40y 1.5" 10@40y = 2"
JSB Exact 551 15.89 5@25y = 1/2" 10@25y = 1" 5@40y = 1" 10@40y = 2"

New ones to test
JSB Exact 552
JSB Exact RS 552
JSB Exact Express 552
JSB Exact 552 Heavy

Not sure I want the quest to be over after those but untested ones are becoming scarce. Ill let you know if 10 go into 1 @40.

I recently acquired a Weihrauch HW30S with a Rowan Engineering extra set-back brass trigger. I liked it so much that I wanted one for my HW85, on which I'm currently working. But I wanted something a little different. So I made one in brass, with a wider (3/8'') finger pad, and with two adjusting screws, à-la TX200, instead of the fixed ''two-stage'' pins. I'm not quite finished yet, I still have to make hardened set screws, and also I'll need to enlarge the trigger guard opening, the new trigger is too wide to go through. The new trigger is set back approx. 5 mm, instead of 10 mm like the Rowan Eng. trigger blade. In the pictures, you can see a stock trigger blade on the left, the new one in the middle and the Rowan Eng. blade on the right.

I'll also make a new trigger weight adjusting screw, and a new hardened steel rear sear. I already made a prototype of the rear sear, which is working very well, except for one flaw: the safety is not working, so I need to fix that. I planned to make 3 sears, one for each of my Weihrauch, and maybe I'll make another brass trigger for my HW35E too :) Will post back when I have more work done.

Just finished installing and adjusting the new brass setback trigger in the HW85 to test it. I've made hardened set screws out of SAE1045 steel, enlarged the trigger guard opening, and temporarily re-installed the original rear sear and safety pin. I've ''bump-tested'' it, no self firing, it's safe :) The trigger pull is very light, smooth and short (about 3/16'' total travel). And with the wider finger pad, it's very comfy and crisp. Really happy with the results :supz:
