Not even a sock. Was just a rubber foam mat I cut and built up the height I need. But I have a cheek rest that straps on, coming. Im thinking cutting the 3 pieces of mat in a strip. To sit on top of the stock. So the rest goes over. Giving me the height w/o looking too stupid.

But I'm contacting Raman about the Syn stock with the built in adjustable cheek rest. Maybe, sending the wood stock to a stock maker and getting an adjustable comb put in.

** no go on the syn stock. They don't sell the stocks separate.

I made a shooting rest for my camera tripod. It's a Manffotto tripod and is very stable.

I pounded in a 3/8 fitting and anti-rotation pin into a block of oak stair tread wood.
The 3/8" threaded fitting was a 'top hat' screw for cheap KD furniture that assembles with an allen wrench. I ground off the top hat part and hammered it in.

I then discovered the setup to be so stable I added a tether line to hold the gun hands free. I can totally walk away from this and the gun it not going anywhere. Made with steel cable, dog clips and a spring that prevent and harsh vibrations from jarring the gun.

Very nice.. I made something similar years ago. Just used a alum plate and a extra front bag rest. Now I got a bench top version. Because I found them not to be low enough, and I didn't like really bending down. Now I can kinda sit up straight and still have a stable platform.

Also a extended and lowered butt plate from white 1/2" acrylic

and a comb riser made from your typical craft and packing foam but held in place by a neoprene wrist brace and makes it super easy to put on and off. And soft feel on the cheek.

And a focusing aide ring clamp made out of an old nylon cutting board. Looks like it needs some fine sanding. Clamps closed with a small bolt hidden under the rubberband.

Got my Diana 240 C in, mounted the 3-9 mount master I had lying around. Coming from the Kral, I much prefer this. Way lighter, compact, near perfect cheek rest. Yes just enough room to use the AO.

How does it compare against it's clone, the Ruger airhawk?

Isn't a Ruger Airhawk a Clone of a Diana 34?

I stand corrected.

I did some barrel work with my recently acquired lathe this week-end. The barrel OD was reduced to 7/16'', the standard 13xx/22xx size, but I left a front ''muzzle brake'' to retain the original front sight dovetail. Still have to finish the brass TP that goes with the barrel...

Interesting "work"

A bit above a mini-lathe too!

What caliber is the re-worked bbl?

The barrel is .177 cal., it's an old break barrel rifle. And yes, this is a major step over my tired 7x10 mini-lathe, really glad I bought it :) Also bougth the stand and quick change tool post with it, well worth it.
