Hey fellows
Having problems with my 2240 lately
After around 15 shot it stops shooting (no drop off)
Can't remove co2 12 get cylinder... After disasembly valve is pressurized to co2 and removes with a loud pop
On occasion after removing the end cap after it stops firing a final shot without the end cap causes the co2 to rocket out very dangerously
Very well lubed, polished pierce rod and definitely not over tightened
Any thoughts

Thank you all very much

WAG = Piercing pin is getting stuck in the cart. . . .
Any spring work, or velocity adjusters? Weak valve return spring and/or heavy hammer spring can lead to this.
Heavier return spring and/or re-profiling piercing pin(shoulder 2/3's of the way up the taper) has worked for me on a couple custom sprung guns. . . .
Good Luck!

Awesome... yep heavier hammer spring and lighter valve spring... Already modified piercing pin with grinder 2/3 the way up then polished.... Will add a slightly stronger valve spring and see how she goes
Thanks for helpful speedy response

Sounds like a recipe for a loud gun. . .
What caliber, and what barrel length? You might be able to tune for 90% of your current velocity, and use half the gas, and enjoy a huge report reduction. . . .
Only if you're interested though. . . . The loud bang can be very satisfying as well! :D

With a small file(riffer) put a small flute down 3/4-7/8 of the length of the taper. Don't polish future tapers. IMHumbleO and experience.

Very few "WTF is going on with my gun" questions go unanswered, especially regarding this heavily modified platform. . .
Great resource this forum!
Glad to have helped.
Good Luck!

Then you'll be happy to know, that your current mods in addition to a port job, will put you darn near the pinnacle of your chosen mod path! Bitchen!

No. But I did discover that unpolished tapers don't stick nearly as frequently at the polished variety. . . .humbleopinionandevenmorehumblingexperiences . . . YMMV. . . .

Keep having fun!

You need access to a Chrony before you start "port hogging" a pistol in Canada. . . . .

I believe the BNM breech uses the factory transfer port, unless your gun has been otherwise modified?

The factory(Crosman) transfer port, transfers propellant from the valve port to the barrel port.

Drill out the transfer port incrementally, never larger than the valve port, ensuring you never exceed the "speed limit".

If you oversize the port, you'll need to either purchase/fabricate a replacement, or start shortening the barrel.

Good Luck!
