So I'm a long(ish) time Airgun enthusiast and fiend for knowledge. So I've just recently purchased a pair of PAL rated, spring piston air shotguns. Everyone knows that putting an inexpensive scope (even ones for Airguns) on a Springer is a good way to throw 20-80 bucks out the window, but I have never heard much about red dots on springers. The effective range of the shotguns are only about 15 yards, maybe 20 if your just paper punching for fun, so putting anything with a magnification on it seems a little excessive. Anyway if anyone has experience or even a mounting method for the inexpensive scopes it would be much appreciated!

I've no experience with any cheap red dot except a VISM brand one which had a red laser and green dot. It would hold zero for maybe two or three shots then go off by a few clicks, both the dot and the laser, no matter which of my airguns I mounted it on, springers or PCPs. But my Burris Fastfire III holds zero marvellously well on anything. Unfortunately it's not cheap. Maybe one of the knock-offs would work well, but I've no experience with those.
