I'm offering to build good and proper field targets (providing a large enough interest)
I have full and almost unlimited use of a cnc plasma cuter at work. I and I alone do the programming and operation of it.

I have built a few prototypes last year and have worked any bugs out of the reset and adjustability of the trip mechanics.
They are all built from 10g hot rolled steel. With variable target diameters
2" 1" and .5" (this is open to other sizes as well.)
Typical shapes will be crow, rabbit, pigeon, raccoon. (open to other shapes of interest)
In order to make this worth my while and yours I'd like to see commitment to 150 targets.
This will keep my and your cost lower.
Realistically I'd like to keep the cost to 25-30.00 per target. (built to last but replacement parts will be available.)
Will include 100' of cord with each target and possibly hold down pegs if I can source or produce them at a reasonable cost.

Anyway this is open for discussion and I hope there is reasonable intrest in this.

I'm now looking for sombody with experiance with multiple brands of field targets to review mine. I will ship 2 targets to the right person for a full unbias review. Must be able to test with a range of power from non pal .177 to pal rated .22 and at distances up too 50 yards.
After air rifle testing is done feel free to test with .22 rimfire (not required but feel free to do so.)
If interested or if you would like to elect somebody to do so leave a comment below.

I've shot a lot of field targets, and go to the Mission shoots regularly. I could bring a pair there, and we could cycle them in. They would be tested with a wide range of power, from sub 5 FPE all the way to over 30 FPE.

Let me know if you want to send a set to Vancouver, and I'll make sure to write you a report on them. If they work well, I'm sure I'd want to buy them off you anyhow!

I would be interested in testing one of your targets; I've shot FT competitively for about 8yrs and shot for Team Canada at the last two World Championships of Field Target. I also produce WFTF certified target testers; have you tested that your targets fall with the equivalent of a 12FPE (muzzle energy) strike at 56yds?

There are not that many target makers out there, if they are made to work in accordance 12FPE guns I am sure you could sell a few of them :drinkers:

For those who need field target: DIY is much fun, get some medal pieces and you can easily make whatever you want with some screw/bolt+nut/iron wires, or even lawn sign metal frames; ropes also works but may need replacement if you hit it. The only tool you may need is just a drill with proper drill bite.
Easy, cheap and fun, you can paint them but I usually use orange round 0.8/1/1.5 inch stickers

Not really matters, as long as information is useful
Here are a couple I made, the cost is less than $8. I have a few at my friends' place with a mono garden pole and random metal chips

Those turned out great! It sure would have been nice to just order and have it sent to my door. LOL

Truth is, I have a Mig with CO2 argon gas mix so I could easy make one myself.
Thanks for the pictures. :drinkers:

That is a great looking target.
The paint job is a bit more involved than my usual few minutes with a spray can.
I tried some new colours for some FT matches last year. I really like the way the fluorescent pink targets show up but they require a white paint coat first and that is about as much time/effort as I want to put in.
I experimented with some different paints to see if anything would hold up, but everything I tried came off when the high speed lead arrived...

Some samples of my standard Remington targets with different paint tests attached with a few different pellet impacts tested. (Yes, I missed the kill zone on purpose- honest).
